Renda Chehabi has spent most of her adult life either in Paris, or somewhere in the Middle East. She’s finally settled in Dubai.
“I was born in France but lived in Syria until I finished university. I then went back to Paris to join my husband, where we had two children. After that we moved to Saudi Arabia for career opportunities, then onto Syria where I stayed till 2011. After that I lived in Paris, with a time in Jordan. It was my husband who first came to Dubai for his career. I spent two years between Paris and Dubai, going back and forth to see him when I had vacation, until I found a position as an architect. Then we were all able to settle here.
I love Dubai because it’s a vibrant city, full of life and a true melting pot of all cultures. Only 20% of the population are true Dubai nationals. We’re considered to be guests! It’s easy to live here, people are open-minded. You should come to Dubai with no prior thoughts, and you’ll be surprised at what you find.
It’s true that you can really shop ‘til you drop, and there is a lot of new construction. All of that is shaping the face of Dubai today and the future. But there’s much more to Dubai. It’s very nice to explore the old town, or go for a trip on a boat down the river. You can dine underwater, or if you get too hot, of course you can go skiing. This is Dubai! A mountain was built indoors with a huge skin run. There are things to do outside Dubai too, like visiting archeological sites, or going dune buggying in the desert!
Despite all there is to do my favorite thing is to go to the beach after work, have a drink, and read my book while watching the sunset.
Usually I travel for work or to see my family. When I travel I love to discover the history of the country to be able to understand the culture. My dream travel-wise is to visit Iran and India, because the culture is so different than what I am used to.
Understanding what you like and what you expect from your visit, like nightlife, the desert, culture, shopping etc. is important to be to help plan how you can spend your days. I’m used to this too and can’t wait to tell you about all the surprises Dubai has in store for you.”

“We flew like birds in Madrid with the teleferico across the casa del campo, gliding just above the houses and trees. Wonderful day!”

“My husband and I spent a week in Cape Town last march. Amber was my contact at Cmycities and I must say she was great helping us make our stay the most enjoyable possible! Amber is easy to get in touch with and is extremely reactive. She gave us tailor-made advices, as I had been in Cape Town only once, years ago (loved Green Market Square and the Truth Coffee).
I particularly appreciated her good tips (we were looking for running spots and found great ones at the Sea Point Waterfront) and addresses that no guide tour would have given me (girl-to-girl best spots like shopping in the Watershed) but also lots of groovy attractions for the two of us. “

“I had a wonderful last minute week-end in London two months ago… Cmycities London helped me find a hotel, select a musical and recommended the Saatchi Gallery, which was really for me an amazing experience. I can only recommend Marie-Pascale, for the personal touch I am always looking for when I travel… and I can’t wait to travel again with Cmycities! “

“We had the most incredible experience in Paris a few weeks ago! The trip was a surprise long weekend for our 5 year-old daughter birthday and it was just perfect! Her eyes are still sparkling, maybe from seeing the Eiffel Tower?! We managed to keep a day out at Disneyland as a surprise. It’s a family trip we’ll never forget! “

“I only had a short stay in Sao Paulo but I was lucky to have Andre to show me around and point me in the right direction. He knows all the good spots and fun areas, and you can definitely tell how much he loves his city! I can’t wait to go back and explore more of this incredible city!
I highly recommend getting in touch with him before your stay!
Thanks again Andre :)”
