Bordeaux Destination Expert Céline Harel really knows her city and wants to share her love of the region with people who want to discover it, as she feels it has something for everyone.
“I grew up near Bordeaux and got to know the city when studying, spending all my free time hanging out there with friends. I moved up to Paris to start my original career in marketing, but came back to Bordeaux recently and am looking to become a teacher.
Bordeaux is like a little Paris! A lot has changed while I’ve been away and I’m enjoying rediscovering the city. It’s dynamic, there are a lot of events, initiatives, new coffee shops, etc. I love walking around Bordeaux because even though I’m familiar with everything, there are always new places popping up. Like tea rooms! I love going there to read (or anywhere!), or do embroidery.
What’s awesome with Bordeaux is that it has everything: it’s very charming but dynamic, surrounded by beautiful countryside (and good wine) and wonderful beaches. And it’s a really down to earth city, you can do everything on foot. I’m a very “green” person, and know a lot of people involved so I can recommend grocery stores, organic restaurants, ethical clothes store, alternative places, local artisans etc.
You could say I started broadening my travel horizons from when I was a student. Until then I’d spent all my summers on the Atlantic coast with my grandparents and little sister. It’s is a magic place for me, so beautiful and authentic, in all seasons!
First I explored Europe a bit with friends going to Germany, England, Spain, Portugal, Italy… I’ve been to the U.S. too (I loved Seattle), plus Iceland, Morocco and Tunisia. I travel a lot in France, which is so different from North to South, with beautiful countryside.
My most memorable trip was to South East Asia with a friend, my sister and backpack (a loyal travel companion!). We spent 2 months travelling around Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore, with nothing planned, just a guidebook.
I’ll probably go to Denmark and/or Norway next. I’d love to explore Northern Europe, how the people there live, their wonderful landscape.
My friends always say I really know my city. They’re always asking me to recommend a new restaurant, a good place to stay, where to go for a walk in the countryside. It’s a great feeling when I can find the perfect thing for them to do! And that’s what I look forward to doing for you!”

“We flew like birds in Madrid with the teleferico across the casa del campo, gliding just above the houses and trees. Wonderful day!”

“My husband and I spent a week in Cape Town last march. Amber was my contact at Cmycities and I must say she was great helping us make our stay the most enjoyable possible! Amber is easy to get in touch with and is extremely reactive. She gave us tailor-made advices, as I had been in Cape Town only once, years ago (loved Green Market Square and the Truth Coffee).
I particularly appreciated her good tips (we were looking for running spots and found great ones at the Sea Point Waterfront) and addresses that no guide tour would have given me (girl-to-girl best spots like shopping in the Watershed) but also lots of groovy attractions for the two of us. “

“I had a wonderful last minute week-end in London two months ago… Cmycities London helped me find a hotel, select a musical and recommended the Saatchi Gallery, which was really for me an amazing experience. I can only recommend Marie-Pascale, for the personal touch I am always looking for when I travel… and I can’t wait to travel again with Cmycities! “

“We had the most incredible experience in Paris a few weeks ago! The trip was a surprise long weekend for our 5 year-old daughter birthday and it was just perfect! Her eyes are still sparkling, maybe from seeing the Eiffel Tower?! We managed to keep a day out at Disneyland as a surprise. It’s a family trip we’ll never forget! “

“I only had a short stay in Sao Paulo but I was lucky to have Andre to show me around and point me in the right direction. He knows all the good spots and fun areas, and you can definitely tell how much he loves his city! I can’t wait to go back and explore more of this incredible city!
I highly recommend getting in touch with him before your stay!
Thanks again Andre :)”
